Principals and Teachers
Miss Laura and Miss Amy opened SSDA in 2009. They are qualified members of the International Dance Teachers’ Association (IDTA) and are passionate about dance. They have performed in local venues such as The Y Theatre and Concordia Theatre but their real passion is teaching others. With both principals being mothers to their own children and working with children in other contexts, they are caring and nurturing, which is at the heart of their ethos for the school. They wanted to create a school that is welcoming, friendly and has a family feel and this has been recognised by many and is often why parents choose SSDA for their children.

Student Teacher
Alongside performing at venues such as Drayton Manor, The Curve, Sue Townsend Theatre and others, Miss Jaime is continuing to work towards her teaching qualifications with the IDTA. After finishing her BTEC level 3 extending diploma in performing arts (dance) and gaining a triple distinction, she has decided to follow in her mum’s footsteps and teach others here at SSDA.

Assistant Teachers
At SSDA we are lucky to have a team of talented and committed seniors that enjoy gaining experience of working alongside our teachers to hopefully go on to become student teachers and teaching their own classes whilst working towards their teaching qualifications. Each week, our teachers are assisted by Miss Abi, Miss Courtney and Miss Liv. Miss Abi and Miss Claire also assist with classes as their passion for dance didn’t allow them to stop dancing after successfully working through their own IDTA examinations. They both clearly have a passion for children, in addition to dancing, as they both work full-time with children and young people. Miss Abi also uses her ICT skills and helps with administrative tasks for the school.
